Review: If you tired of all these thrillers and a number of pretty good action movies that came out on the big screen during last year you should definitely pay some attention to this interesting drama. The theme of young girl who is way too smart for her age and find much older man always attracted attention and here we can see it from a bit different point of view.

That is an exciting story of sixteen years old girl who definitely stands higher both morally and intelligently than all her classmates. Jenny has interests which are beyond understanding of her classmates. She is seriously into classic music and modern art and that pretty girl considers herself to be very clever and original. One day on her way home from orchestra she meets handsome guy on a sport car who offers to take her home. Being absolutely self-confident Jenny agrees and this good-liking man even manages to persuade her parents to let her go out with him. They consider that this rich and educated guy is the ticket to future for their daughter and 16- year old teen thinks that she is smart enough and experienced with all kind of situation in life that she can control her new 30+ old friend. David takes her to the concert and a great dinner, making her feel so grown up and important lady. His charms are irresistible and eventually she loses her virginity on her next birthday. Slowly she realizes that life in not that easy as she always considered and there are plenty of things that she has to understand regarding her new loves, his friends and her own future. That’s why it is called An Education – everyone in this movies should take a couple of lessons starting from not-so-smart Jenny to her parents who can’t see anything beyond the possibility to get rich and educated while being with David.

Now here come few words about the cast. First of all the role of young Jenny is perfectly performed by Carry Mulligan, 24 years old actress who never before played main character. Her acting here actually makes this drama so brilliant and deep. Somehow she managed to show that teenage girl character in such a realistic and emotional way that it is hard to take her real age! Sarsgaard in the role of David does the rest of the job adding more charm to this film that was directed by woman by the way(Lone Scherfig).

So this screenplay is recommended for almost everyone who is interested in coming out of age stories and want to see something highly emotional, but not very depressing. Jenny learns some lessons here, but her life isn’t over for sure, she still managed to get some entertainment out of this situation and you can do the same while watching surely the best movie of the year in drama genre.
